CRCT QUICK TIPS
If your child has any type of appointments on the days of testing, such as doctor or dental appointments, please take the time to reschedule so that your child will not miss any part of their test.
It is important that your child performs as well as he/she can. Please remember that all third and fifth graders are required to pass the Reading Section to be promoted to the next grade and all fifth graders are required to pass the Math Section to be promoted. The results of the CRCT are also used for the placement of students into next year’s classes .
Here are some pointers that will improve the likelihood of their success on the test:
1—The student needs to get to bed early enough to get plenty of rest for the test.
2—They need to wear comfortable clothes because they will be testing from approximately 8:10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. daily.
3—Students need to be at school every day of testing. Statistics show that students test better with their regular teacher than in a make-up session.
4—A good breakfast is a necessity.
5—Students need to be at school on time. The student needs to be in the classroom ready for testing no later than 8 a.m.
6—The student will need a minimum of two #2 pencils.
7—The students need everything that is required for them to be successful. Example: Eye Glasses, any medication that they are taking, etc.
8—A good attitude is important about the test.
9—Encourage your child to do their best.
